Busy and Artshow

As you can see I have been distracted of late.
I have started to go to monday and tuesday game nights at Guf Werribee and I have also entered five of my art work into the Bacchus Marsh Rotary art show.
Which will be a bit of a learning experience for me.

The Art show details can be found here
So if you are near Bacchus Marsh between the 7th and 9th of Jane then come along and have a look.

And just to let you all know that redbubble has now brought in tote bags so if you are interested go check out some of my art at my redbubble account.

Cheers,
Tracey.

Melbourne Supernova

Melbourne's Supernova was great this year. I only went for one day but it was worth it.
Katrina my cousin and I went in the morning to shop and check out stuff and meet up with our friend Kathrine who is a member of the Melbourne Costume Group.
Kathrine was dressed in her amazing Original Cat Woman Costume near the Star Wars booth. She also had her captain America outfit and ran off soon after we had arrived to change into it.
I met up with Bridie a Risembool Ranger and passionate Edward Elric Cos-player. Who decided to join Katrina and myself as we cruised the stalls. Of cause I finally decided to wear my FMA Amestris uniform I had made a few years ago and I was amazed at how many people asked for photos. YAY!
It was an up lifting day something I had needed for a long time.
I also got to meet and talk to
D. M. Cornish the Melbourne author of the amazing book series Monster blood tattoo, Check these books out they are amazingly. I was disheartened to realize that he was there this year and I had not bought my hard covers for him to sign. DAMN! But it was amazing day and I managed to find a few good deals on a few anime’s I had my eye on for some time. I got Persona of the animation or P4. Fait Zero and Bakumatsu.

Abstract Space Lion

Abstract Space Lion - Acrylic 2014
This is my latest Art peice.
The Abstract Space Lion.
Done in acrylic this piece took a few layers of abstract paintings to finally inspire me to work on a lions head.
I also aquired glow in the dark paint recently and have added a few spots of this around the lions head. This creates an interesting display when the lights go out.
I'm so happy how this one came out and it was a lot of fun to paint. Specially those glow in the dark dabs of paint painted on in near total darkness.

The art rooms Tardis

Behold my Tardis, Yes I'm a Doctor Who Geek and I plan to deck this storage cabinet out to look like a Tardis parked in the corner of my new art room.

Just thought I'd pop that info in for all to see and read about. I painted this metal cabinet at the start of the year and since this photo I have painted the white wall behind, to making it look more like a square blue box.

Now to just get motivated to add the details.

Cheers all,
Tracey.

Latest artwork

Pink Abstract - Acrylic 2014
My latest abstract mind blast.
This started out as an attack of pinks reds whites
with a bit of magenta ink splashed on top
to see what it would do.
As of late I have favored the freedom of abstract work inspired by Flora Bowley.
Flora is an amazing artist with a flare and style completely out of this world. She encourages the artist to experiment and just play with colour and paint using anything that they can work with, be it fingers, stampers, brushes or rags.
The mist bottle is my personal favorite which allows you to just let go and spray water to make your art run and smudge in no way you would have thought of trying to move your paint before.

If you are interested in more of Flora Bowley check out her website or hunt down a copy of her inspirational book on amazon.

Cheers Tracey.

Artroom

For those of you who do not know me.
My father built me an art room out the back and I recently had a vinyl floor installed.
I hope to utilize the space for my artwork a lot more now hat I can leave projects to dry or out over night without having to worry about space.
So pleased, thank you dad for this wonderful art space.
Below are some images of my art room.

Welcome

Welcome to my newest blog Papercut Online.

I created this blog as a replacement for my troublesome and out of date website papercut.com.au.

A domain name and website I have had since 2000.
Due to technical issues and a passionate dislike for dealing with hosting and domain names I have decided to run to blogger for all my internet connection needs.
This will now be my personal web presence, my easily run website showcasing my creative, artistic and design life.

Here you will see my sketches, doodles, works in progress and latest works as well as any hints tips and techniques I can post for those of you out there interested in trying the creative way of life for themselves.

Lots of love Tracey Q
